4k movie reviews
"Earth: One Amazing Day 4K" - this is something really exceptional, and at the same time - can you expect otherwise? The British, the heirs of the refined nation of the colonialists, who were first in many remote corners of our planet - the BBC, National Geographic and others like them - for decades of improvement in this genre have achieved in the depiction of living nature of some completely beyond the bounds. Their current video tapes are analogous to the British book publishing in the early 19th century, when there were no books equal in quality to those that were mass-produced on Foggy Albion in any country in the world (except perhaps Germany).
And "Earth: One Amazing Day 4K" - this is another height, although yesterday it would seem - well, where next? The unchanging (and quite fair) pathos of admiring the miracle of everything by the key of the beating variety of life on our tiny planet - but how ... no HOW ... no HOW !!! it's filmed! Absolutely incredible foreshortenings, the game is with acceleration, then with the slowdown, the rise into space and descent into the depths of the ocean, the kinds of some inhuman beauty and scale. Possession of the techniques of cinema and the dexterity of their application beyond the limits - now I understand that the feeling from the film is akin to watching the play of the pianist of the highest class, merging with the instrument into one being.
But the main thing is, of course, the material around which the film is built, and viewing it in 4K Ultra HD is an incredible picture. The reason is simple, even trite: the local heroes do not play - they live. For all the truthfulness and artless plot of the film, he will give one hundred points of odds to any carefully engineered thriller ... even an action movie. Because in addition to the stunning beauty of the nature of our Earth, we are witnessing fights and races, at stake is life - or the real one, not in the script prescribed, after which the actors go to drink coffee, death. And this is removed, I repeat, with unattainable skill, the ability to drag the spectator into the very middle of what is happening and give full experience of the frantic tension of a fight or chase.
The words are powerless here - how to convey the feeling you are experiencing, looking into the depths of the pupil of the rescued newborn marine iguana five minutes from the family - five minutes gone to a desperate escape from the dregs of a sand ditty swarming with two-meter snakes? It's just necessary to see this escape to life, which is built on the screen according to all the rules of dramatic art - with dozens of ruthless and swift predators lining a lone newborn victim who at the last moment jump out in a desperate leap over the last stone on the road to salvation and, to millimeters (which we are given to fully appreciate in slow motion), its missing. It is necessary to see - otherwise not to convey the feelings that arise when looking into the depths of the pupil's pupil, frozen in the conquered safety under the caressing rays of the sun.
Or the battle of two giraffes, in the degree of drama resembling a boxing match more likely (at the time of viewing in the cinema hall, a very characteristic one was heard: "Left!", "From the bottom!", "Come on!"), In which a few centimeters and the will to defeat the defeated already, but not surrendered enemy decide the outcome of the battle with an accurate powerful uppercut of the huge head on the stunningly mobile neck. (I never knew how giraffes fought - and looking at it, like many other shots of the film, I felt as much delight and surprise as if I were watching video tapes delivered by a probe from another planet.)
But this is only one side of life - and with the same incredible approach, the fixation of each eloquent and natural detail shows both the motherly tenderness and the touching marital affection of our smaller brothers, down to the microscopic moths who are hurrying to live for the three hours allocated by nature, their spontaneity, curiosity and perseverance in achieving a great goal - to live.
They are actors of a completely different league than any of the human "stars" - this is the real life that the filmmakers could reveal to us as if they were not standing by themselves. It's like freshly squeezed juice - but not from a glass, but from a fruit - and right into your mouth. And this impassive workshop is highlighted by a voice in which many of us grew up in black and white TVs, the voice-legend of Nikolai Nikolaevich Drozdov.
I was fortunate to be present at the premiere of the film and to hear the surprisingly lively and energetic performance of this 81-year-old ascetic. Much of what I said, I think, was left in the shower for a long time, because at that age the wisdom speaks the lips of an unrepentant person, and Nikolai Nikolaevich did not so much represent the 4K film as he spoke about the unlimitedness of the cosmos and the uniqueness and uniqueness of life on our tiny Earth. The fact that we are striving afar and up, not noticing that it is amazing, but amazing, that it lives literally under our feet. It sounds trite, maybe, but it's in the broadcast - right there, directly from the lips of the old, but radiant with the childish enthusiasm of a wise man, everything was like freshly squeezed juice without a glass.
"Earth: One Amazing Day 4K" is an amazing movie, in the sense of what shakes, shakes and shakes up our traditional banal: "Well, yes, life is amazing, diverse and beautiful, somewhere there are tons of natural wonders, funny ". There somewhere - A miracle with a capital letter, more - miracles - which we have much to learn can instead of once again tickle the nerves under the popcorn of some new synthetic kinoklyukva. Yes, and as a spectacle - at times more spectacular.
4K documentary movies will allow you to experience all the beauty that you could feel in IMAX. Download 4K and enjoy.
